Bone Density Treatment at Hillside Medical Office

As we age, our bones slowly begin to reach a point where they loose some of their strength.  For some people, this process makes their bones brittle to the point that a minor fall, or even something like a heavy cough can cause serious damage.

Osteoporosis is most often age related, but there are factors that can accelerate the weakening of the bones, such as:

  • Menopause
  • Genetics
  • Poor Nutrition
  • Low Physical Activity
  • Smoking
  • Low Body Weight

The condition is typically diagnosed using bone densitometry, an X-Ray based testing method used to check the hips, wrists, or spine.  Hillside Medical Office provides treatment for many patients with bone density issues – please contact our offices for further information on what we may be able to do for you.
